Dr. Bhoomika Ramrao Kamath is the Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Her clinical time is spent mostly with the inpatient palliative medicine consult service at RWJUH. Dr. Kamath completed her Palliative Medicine fellowship at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, CA prior to which, she was a Family Medicine physician with Stanford Health Care since 2011. She completed her Family medicine residency from the UC Davis/Valley Medicine Consortium Program in Modesto, CA. Following her fellowship, she worked for two years as an Inpatient Palliative Care Consultant at Sutter/Eden in Castro Valley, CA She is passionate about teaching residents and fellows. Her special interests are in improving serious illness communication across the continuum of care and primary palliative care education amongst the interdisciplinary healthcare teams to facilitate patient centered goal concordant care.

She is currently working on a primary palliative care education project with the SICU including and IRB study. She is faculty for the Anchor training primary palliative care training program and Core-Faculty for the HPM fellowship program.
