University Equity and Inclusion

Cho-Hee Shrader, (she/her) is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, Division of Nursing Science, and Presidential Diversity Initiative Faculty Scholar whose interdisciplinary research bridges public health and clinical nursing. A PhD-prepared nurse clinician, Dr. Shrader’s work focuses on how social networks, social norms, and neighborhood environments influence substance use and HIV-related outcomes, particularly among racially, sexually and gender minoritized populations. Her scholarship is grounded in a commitment to health equity and examines multilevel determinants—neighborhood, network, and individual—that contribute to health outcomes. Her research prioritizes communities in the NYC MSA (including New Jersey), South Florida, the Southwest, and South Africa. Dr. Shrader’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences, AIDS and Behavior, and Drug and Alcohol Dependence. Through both research and clinical training, Dr. Shrader aims to inform equitable, systems-level change for minoritized populations both domestically and globally.
